Spring Break: So Close...Not Close Enough

One thing: Mid-term week. I have a wonderful grand total of 5 mid-terms this week. One of which I took today and completely bombed. No worries though; everyone else in the class was clueless as well. It was just one part of my Aural Skills midterm. Aural Skills is a class that will teach you how to hear music and automatically notate it exactly how it sounds, and how to sing wha tyou see on the paper without hearing a single note. There are also many other theoretical concepts as well that are just too complicated to explain. And, I would hate to bore my fabulous blog readers! So, with all of that said, I felt good about two of the answers on the entire exam...yeah...two. But, I am encouraged to be able to say that I was not the only one! I have two other midterms on Thursday and two on Friday along with a speech on the history and the hobby of scrapbooking. I told one of my friends today that I was worried about my speech because it was quite exciting compared to the rest we have been hearing all week that have been about a specific person or thing. I can't wait to spice the informative speech up a bit! I'm sure my teacher will love it! I'll let you know.
Note: Leslie, and all who haven't met him, here is my new man! His name is John and he is incredible. Sorry ladies, he's all mine!

James

The book of James is a very good book in the Bible. I have studied it with the children and with the young adults. I jus tlove the book of James. James tells of many ways to live, and how to do things that are pleasing to God in a sinful world. One thing I love about this book is James instructs us to do something that I don't really think we do as often as we should. Pray. Not just pray before a meal and before we go to sleep. Take time to just bow down before the Lord and cry out to Him; listen to His voice; search for His calling for you; and feel His love for you; just feel His loving arms wrap around you. Pray like Jesus prayed in the garden when He wept before God. Cry in the Spirit, for the Spirit understands what we are saying even if we have no words at all.
James also instructs us to pray for others. Lift others up in prayer. When was the last time you prayed for someone other than yourself or those closest to you. Lift up our leaders, the staff at your church, our military. Pray for them, lift them up in prayer so that God may send a coat of protection and a sence of encouragement upon them.

Happy Birthday Mom

My mom's birthday was this week. We all went out to eat the other night in honor of her growing one year older. I got her a Hallmark music card that sang "shake your groove thing" and a peice of art that says "like mother like daughter, the nicest compliment I ever got" I think she had a great day. She got to get her hair done, went shopping, and relaxed. Sounds like the perfect birthday to me!
This weekend will be spent babysitting, and nothing but that. I am excited about it!
Happy Weekend!

Starbucks Is Yummy

Hello, my name is Lindsey and I love Starbucks coffee. They made a big investment by placing a Starbucks right on the way to school. Tonight, I had Starbucks...again. Tonight was the night that I tasted THE BEST most PERFECTLY made tall white mocha EVER! I also had a chocolate on chocolate cupcake. It was so incredible. Starbuck is always good...but tonight, there was a touch of heaven in my drink. It was wonderful!

Mission Accomplished

...And boy does it feel great! When I get really worked up about something I clean like crazy. I just finished doing just that, and I feel wonderful...and so does my room! It is spotless. All I lack is putting my clean sheets and bed spread on my bed and it will be finished.
I bought the coolest thing the other day. An FM transmittor for my car or any other radio. It's just that little black thing and it plugs right into my iPod. It plays a great sound. I use it all the time in my car and at home. Just one more wonderful use for my new iPod.

Clean Sweep

I have put it off long enough. I must clean my room. Not just straighten and do laundry...but actually deep clean it. It is so difficult for me to make time to do this this semster. I told someone today that I feel like i have less time now that I am just an unemployed student. Strange.
A new update: I'm changing my minor to dance. Yes, APSU offers that, and it is a great program! I will learn ballet, hip-hop, latino, and broadway dancing! I will start classes next semester!

A Case Of The Sniffles

This weekend has been crammed full with fun things. Yesterday I went out for a friends birthday. We all had such a blast! And today I got stuck in the snow. I'm so worn out though. I have a bad cold that is NOT going away. It seems to have been hovering over me for the past 4 days. Today I'm jsut sneezing and sniffling...the worst part of a cold I think. I just got in from driving in the snow. It's pretty messy out there. The roads are complete ice. Everyone be safe and drive slow!
I'm super excited about tomorrow night. I am meeting with the single's praise team to teach them what we are doing for worship on Wednesday night! I am super excited! I'm also going to Sam Ash to buy a guitar case for my new guitar tomorrow! I love getting new music stuff!

A Dream Come True

“The bride, a princess, waits within her chamber, dressed in a gown woven with gold. In her beautiful robes, she is led to the king; accompanied by her bridesmaids.” Psalm 45:13-14 (NLT)

Once upon a time there was a handsome prince in need of a bride. Far away, in another part of the kingdom, there was a beautiful woman who possessed great potentional but was under the oppression of an envious evil-doer. So the prince, being a mighty man of justice and mercy, rescued the young woman and set her free.

She in turn couldn’t help but fall in love with her noble rescuer. “You are the most handsome of all! You are so gracious!. God himself has blessed you forever!” she exclaimed as she held tightly to his waist to steady herself on the back of his white horse. He took her to the palace where she was bathed and then covered in beautiful linens and sweet-smelling oils. The prince was captivated by her radiance and called her to his side. It seemed as if they were two pieces of the same whole, destined to come together as one.

She was advised, “Forget your people and your homeland far away. For this royal prince delights in your beauty; stay here and honor him!” In response she declared, “I will bring honor to his name,” and she set her heart on a future with him. Soon, a wedding date was set and you know the rest of the story … they lived happily every after!

How do you feel about that “fairy tale?” Do you wish that were the story of your life? Maybe you rail against fairy tales believing them to be literature used to keep women under men’s thumbs? Or maybe your reaction is, “Sweet story but definitely not plausible!”

I can think of no better day than Valentine’s Day to tell you that this tale does come true for millions of women. Guess what? married or single – this is your story! Ladies, Jesus is our rescuer … your handsome prince … your royal husband. He wants nothing more than to rescue you from the evil grip of sin and bring out the best in you. He wants to purify you with His Word and His Spirit and keep you by His side forever. Can you hear Him calling your name today? Listen, He is saying, “”How beautiful you are, my darling! Oh, how beautiful!” (Song of Songs 1:15, TNIV). Will you respond by leaving your past behind, setting your heart on Him, and bringing honor to His Name?

Happy Heart Day

Just another day. Only this day is especially special for florist, candy companies, and Hallmark. Yes, I contributed to two out of the three for this year and I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to sign my music card without it playing the annoying song over and OVER again! I heard something great on the radio this morning. They said, "Even if you don't have a sweet heart, who cares. Valentines day is a day to tell someone that you care about how much you love them. It can be your family, friends, or even your dog!" Pass on the love today and have a good one!! I love you all!

P.S. Let me know what you think of the new glasses.

We'll Fix It For You

I had a not so normal hour and half break this morning at school. I decided to treat myself to McDonald's breakfast! I have been wanting it ALL week, but time wouldn't allow it. There are now so many options for McDonalds breakfast, but I'm a usual kind of girl. So I got the normal sausage, egg, and cheese with a coffee. Now HERE is where my story gets exciting! I told them how many sugers and creams I wanted. Seeing as McD's always gets every order wrong, I already prepared myself for dissapointment on not enough sugers.
The woman handed me my coffee and bag with my food and I quickly searched for my suger and creamer and it of course was not there. So, I kindly waited for the woman to notice that I hadn't drove off. I told her that I needed my suger and cream for my coffee. Then she says, "OH WE PUT IT IN THERE FOR YOU MA'AM!" WOW! I was BLOWN away! I just had to sit there for a moment and just bask in the magnitude of this wonderful thing! That made my day! So, what did I do? I HAD just tell someone so I quickly grabbed my phone and told Jaybird all about it. We were in marvel at McDonalds. Impressed...very very impressed I must say!

All By Myself

Today was my go to school....waste three hours...and go back to school late nighter day. If any of that DIDn'T make sence. . . here...on Tuesday nights I go to school and stay in teh area doing whatever for three hours so i don't waste gas going home just to be back in clarksville at 7. Anyways, while enjoying my, what seemed like endless, three hours tonight, i went to my favorite scrapbook store and purchased WAY too many things for my Fall album, went to Target, and Starbucks and The Olive Garden. Yes, ALL by myself! I stayed in Starbucks for a good hour and a half. I got a lot accomplished such as homework and reading more on the book Velvet Elvis. Then, I ate at the Olive Garden...ALL ALONE! It was wonderful. Sort of strange at first...but hey...when a girl is craving her some carbs, she will make that happen! So I ate by myself, and read more on my book; it was wonderful! It's amazing all the conversations you can hear when sitting alone. I guess you could say that I did some major praying for some people tonight in the OG. Our world is SO insane and SO many people do not know the Lord, or maybe they do know who He is, they just do not have a relationship with Him. That's why we are here. God wants to have a relationship with Him.

Snow Day!

We actually had a snow day today! I was so worried last night because I just knew that I would have to drive in the snow this morning. I woke up to my dad telling me that I didn't have school today! So I slept in and now I'm about to do homework and leave for aneye appointment! I get new glasses today! I will update with pictures later! I took Buddy outside this morning and he wasn't happy with the snow so I brought him inside and put his sweater on. Buddy was very pleased with his sweater today. He pranced around in the snow for a while with me chasing him to come inside. He flipped in the snow, stretched, at it, and of course, did his hourly business. I hope everyone gets to enjoy the snow!!!
