Not Me Monday!

This past weekend was a total BLUR it went by so quickly. It began with a new litle "side job" if you will of cleaning houses. (and PS...I WILL clean yours if you like! Just let me know!) The day began early and I was off to my first house cleaning. It was a large house. A lot larger than my own, so I was excited to see how I could handle the pressure! I must say at this moment that once I woke up and immediatly left, I did not put my dogs immediatly back up in their room before eating breakdfast. As I cleaned the house in my not so short short jean shorts and beautifully fixed hair and makeup I realized that this was something that I would like to do often. The house was decorated beautifully, but when I came home I did not reak with envy of her home as compared to my own. Once I finished, I ran home, showered, let the dogs out but no I did not put them immediatly BACK into their room, and left for rehearsal dinner. You see, the Hubb's best friends got married on Saturday, and the Hubb's was a groomsman, and I was ...well, I ran around a lot and answered questions, and made things happen I suppose. So, I got ready and left in not the same dress that I wore to her wedding shower. I would never do that you see, because my dear friend Holly says no two outfits are the same when you accessorize differently. So I was in the clear! After the rehearsal we of course did not stay and visit with friends until 1:00 in the morning before the grooms wedding day. No, not me! On Saturday we most certainly did not sleep in until 12:00 and make biscuits that turned out not to look like cookies what so ever. No, I'm a wonderful cook, and that would NEVER happen! We got ready said hello to the pups and again, most certainly did not put them BACK into their rooms once again to stay a whole day. We would never do a thing like that! The wedding was beautiful, and very perfect for the beautiful Bride and Groom! Before the wedding, however, Holly and I most certainly did not run around frantic with a smile on our faces while wondering the answers to the questions that were asked of us and we said we knew. We also did not lie when we were asked a question and answered it with the correct answer. I would never do a thing like that! Not me! We also did not do a happy dance behind the scenes after we opened the doors to let the Bride make her entrance. That's not something a prim and proper lady would do, not me! But, we really did enjoy ourselves, and we loves helping out two awesome friends of ours with the awesome day! And, I will also say, that everything was perfect, and beautiful! Just as the Bride and Groom wished it would be! The reception was gorgeous, the food was yummy that I did not pile onto my plate, and the dancing was a blast! John and I both realized that we were both great dancers! Because, you see, we would not have been a hit if we were terrible at dancing! Not us! We twisted, we shouted, we cha cha'd and we glided! It was a blast! Congrats to the very, very happy couple! We love you both! Today, we did not sleep in until 1:00 and my husband is still not sleeping because, why would we need to sleep in this late! That's just not right to sleep the day away and still be in my pj's, looking at a very long list of to-do's, I would never do that! Nope, not me!

One of our favorite funny photographs we would like to name "Bad Timing Made By A Selftimer" This picture was taken in Gatlinburg during Christmas. Our best friends, Holly & Sam mean the world to us and we wanted to take them to the spot where John proposed to share it with them! While there, we thought we would cature the moment and set the timer! This was the result! We cherish Holly & Sam's place in our lives and what they mean to us.

Not Me Monday!

A blog created by MckMama to not quite admit all the things we did not do! Click on her "Praying for Stellan" link to join in on the fun!

Sunday afternoon I came home from a wonderful church service and ate Egg Salad which I have not eaten for the past two days for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. No, Not Me! I also did not take a nap afterwards until 5:00 and then wake up and eat more egg salad and go back to church...Not Me! Since we have returned from our trip I have had an unending pile of laundry that doesn't seem to get caught up. I definatly did not take the pile out of my closet and decide to let it sit in the floor for a few hours. NotMe! After I woke up this morning I planned on making cinnamon rolls and coffee for the Hubbs and I wouldn't have dared decided to clean the baseboards in the whole house instead. Not Me! I also haven't spent the past three hours on the internet trying to makeover my blog, ignored the loud fighting between the pups, skipped lunch, spanked Harley 100 times, let him out to potty with no results, or accidently woke up my hubbs. Those just aren't things that a proper lady would do! That's right, Not Me!

Meet Harley!

John and I have been pondering the idea of another puppy for some time now. Heidi always gets lonely and loves playing with our neighbors dogs. After a lot of thought we decided to go for it. John decided he wanted to get a Harley for his birthday. Since I told him the day he gets a Harley is the day I get my BMW convertable! He decided he wanted a Harley dog! He loaded up the Yukon with Heidi and headed to the breeder where we got her. It was a long drive...Heidi's longest road trip. She was a bit worn out once we got there. As soon as we got the the ladies home we sat Heidi down and our Harley dog ran straight to us. It didn't take us long to decide which one was our Harley. Heidi loves him to death. He is a lot different from Heidi. He is a maltipoo as well just like Heidi. It has been so much fun having two pups in the home. They are very entertaining, and Harley is learning QUICK! Which makes me very happy!

In the Maholland home, other than pups, things are about to FINALLY be in somewhat of a cruise control. God has blessed us with a wonderful job, shift change for John and he has now begun that. We are so thankful for God's greatness in our marriage. We are forever thankful for all He has done for us!
And now...enjoy your Smilebox Sunday just about Harley!

Delayed Gratifiation Is A Sweet Thing

On April 15, 6 years ago I recieived a very special Honda Civic. It was the perfect car to drive to high school in everday. I always felt so "cool" in it. As the years went on...and on...and on...and on...the car got older, smaller, and even smaller. For the past few years I have looked at SUV's, test drove many, but never made any decisions. John and I knew that my car wasn't going to last much longer. We didn't feel safe or comfortable in the thing, and we needed something with more room and more power. We have been praying for me an SUV for about 6 months now and we had no idea that God would show His Greatness once more in our marriage. We found this Yukon from a personal owner that we know very well. It has EVERYTHING that BOTH of us want in a vehicle and it have TONS of room! It is exactly what we wanted and what we were praying for! Within a week of posting my precious Civic on craigslist it sold for a great price. We went yesterday to pick up my precious Yukon! Here she is! God is so, so good!

A Water Type of Day

Yesterday a great friend of mine, Leslie and I traveled to my friends house for a swim. It was the most perfect day to enjoy the water! It was a bit cold, but we adjusted quickly! We had a great visit and really enjoyed relaxing. Afterwards I came home to clean and detail my car. I guess you could say that Heidi helped. What do you think? She was halarious with the hose pipe (and yes, I just said that!) She would jump into it and splash and then dig dig dig until she could drink the water out of it. I tried to get a video but there was a lot going on and a lot of laughing that I just figured the pictures would do! Anways, back to the car cleaning. I detailed my car yesterday because we are trying to sale it. We found an SUV for me that is a great deal and we are going to buy it within the next few weeks! I am so excited and God is so amazing and so good to bless us with this! It literally fell into our laps! We have been praying for a car for me for a long time. Nothing is wrong with mine, but I just want something bigger and something to eventually put a family in. Once we found this, we couldn't pass it up! After we prayed over it for a few days, we decided that this was a good decision to buy. We are so excited about it! So, if any of you bloggers out there know of someone looking for a little honda civic let us know! We would be more than happy to let any of you come check it out! If you do want information about it please email us as JLMaholland@aol.com

Memorial Day

Our memorial day was so relaxing. We woke up and ventured to get my new phone and Heidi a few things. I got the Blackberry Storm and I love it! Holly, Sam, and the boy dog Bailey came over at 1:00 for a day filled with grilling, sunbathing, and strict relaxation! We thouroughly enjoyed ourselves and the pups did too! They got into the mud and decided to roll themselves in it. It was a site, but we figured they enjoyed it and made them stay outside the whole day. Later, they both got a bath together. It was a hoot!

Well, today marks the start of something new for me. I am going on a diet. Holly and I are accountability partners as we do this together to reach our goals. We will let you know how we make it towards our goals in 2 weeks with results!

A Day With Bryce

I must say that I have recently really enjoyed being out of school and work. Seeing as finding a job right now is painly difficult, I have made the most out of each day! The other day I found time to clean my windows! Oh what great fun it was! I get to do things that I always wanted to do but couldn't because of "time". The other day I got to go to Bryce's Kindrgarten graduation! It was so precious! I can't beleve he will be 6 next month! wow! And have I mentioned that he is going to have another baby brother? I got to go to that docters visit too! See, I have got to do great things recently! Back on track. After Bryce's graduation I asked if he wanted to spend the rest of his day with me. Of course he wanted to! Some of my Twitter followers probably noticed all of the fun "Bryce Quotes" of the day! I hope you enjoyed those! We went to the park, bought a ball, played with the ball, went on 3 walks around our neighborhood, made a cake, ate the icing, and ate even more icing, rested to the Disney Channel, and made pancakes for dinner! We even have "B" for Bryce and "A" for Aunt pancakes! It was a beautiful day! I kept telling him that we could do whatever he wanted to do all day. And he was very thankful, and excited to spend the entire day with just me and him! I love you Bryce!

Sawyer Brown and Fun Filled Days

Jenny and I traveled to a fun event over the weekend. Her aunt is apparently a "big wig" for something or another, both of us aren't really sure. Anyways, she got us tickets to a benefit auction and concert. The tickets were sitting with her at the VIP table right up front. The ticket price was $600. So, we felt special needless to say! The auction raised a lot of money for the kids and Sawyer Brown was absolutly incredible! He was an awesome entertainer, dancer, and singer! He really did all three! I don't think that we ever stopped smiling the whole night! It was an awesome night out on the town with just us girls! We also celebrated Sam's birthday this weekend with Japenese food! It was delicious and our bellys were full by the time we were finished! Afterwards, we went to their townhome to enjoy the beautiful weekend weather. John and I have been trying to figure out what to do with our patio. We had a glider that was a wedding gift so we decided to play with what we had. This is what we came up with! We love our new patio! It's so cozy and relaxing! This weekend was perfect. John and I relaxed outside all day yesterday. We cleaned the fence row finally and planted some trailing flowers out there for some color! Heidi, in all of her glory-hair, also enjoyed her day. I don't know WHAT she got into but she was filled with cuckaburs and stick tights, and she also decided to go visit out neighbors garage! We are for sure not ready for children if we can't even keep out own puppy clean and safe! All of a sudden we realized Heidi was quiet and then we saw her playing in our neighbors garage. I was so embarrassed! Because it was at this point that the dirty pup was COVERED in stick tights. She looked disgusting! (Please note, this picture was taken after she was clean. We would never let her on our carpet dirty! Trust me!)It was at that very moment when I was finished with cute puffy hair! I have called 5 groomers today and all of them are full until mid week! I suppose we will have to deal until then!

The Voice of Truth

Something just HIT me right in the face just now and I want to pound them out into words. A verse just stuck to me a while ago. Psalm 37:4. It's a verse that I "randomly" read on another blog that I follow. THIS verse led me right where my heart needs to be. RIGHT where God wants me right now. That verse then led me to THIS verse, another one written by a very wise man--my father. "Lindsey, read Psalm 37:1." And that verse led me to three others underlined from previous times in my Bible. THIS is the message of encouragement sent from my Almighty Father. THIS is why I know God has a plan for my life and my job. I am not worried, but delighting myself in Him.
Do not fret because of evildoers,
Be not envious toward wrongdoers.
For they will wither quickly like the grass
And fade like the green herb.
TRUST in the Lord and do good;
DWELL in the land and cultivate faithfulness.
DELIGHT yourself in the Lord; and He will give you the desires of your heart.
REST in the Lord and wait patiently for Him.
The STEPS of man are established by the Lord.

I will TRUST, I will DWELL, I will DELIGHT, I will REST, all in the Lord, for HE only knows my STEPS.
Praise God! This is my prayer from now until the time comes for me to have a job to serve Him for His Kingdom!

It Is Finished!

You have NO idea how long I have waited to be able to put up that blog title! Finally, graduation came yesterday at 10 am. We woke up bright and early to begin our beautiful day! Graduation was incredible. Earlier is the week, the idea of me getting my hard earned degree hit me in spirts. On my way down the steps and into the huge gym filled with hundreds of people is when it REALLY hit me yesterday. I admit...there were tears. A different type of tear that people don't really get often. A silent, happy, grinning from ear to ear type of tear. Know what I'm talking about? They are special! Once I had "arrived" in my spot to sing the National Anthem, I noticed my family. All of them. Standing up waving and so proud. And the tears flowed even more. The people that mean so much to me were all there standing, proud, for me. It was such a special moment for me to see my husband, mother, dad, brother, sister, nephew, aunt, andrea, steve, andrew, luke, jenny, suz, holly, and sam all there to celebrate with me. It was at the very moment that I thanked God for blessing me with all of them and their support for me in my life. It was a proud moment. I was proud of each of them. For being able to be there wife, daughter, sister, daughter-in-law, neice, and friend. I sang the national anthem with the symphonic band. Let's back up a bit....I have sang in gyms before, but not LARGE gym's if you would even classify the Dunn center a LARGE gym, but probably larger. Anyways, the night before, I was a bit uneasy and nervous about singing because I didn't know what to expect. Once I entered and was ready, I wasn't nervous, as usual. It was the most INCREDIBLE singing experience I have ever had. Singing for that many people was truly--speechless. I was honored to be asked to sing it and honored to sing it with my fellow classmates in the symphonic band. I was honored. Once I "arrived" back to my seat with the tears flowing, it was time to really begin! I was now waiting--(obviously me in the PINK sparkly hat!)minutes away from what I had worked so extrememly hard for. Once my name was called, it was the most beautiful my name has ever sounded (well second most--first is when John said it to me in our wedding vows) It was a honorable moment receiving my diploma. My diploma. (Shaking our Presiden't hand. I was so pumped mom got this on the jumbo tran!)After it was all said and done--there were pictures. And then John and I were off to get ready for our party!
My family came over to bring some stuff and help us set up. We originally set up in the garage praying, literally, that the rain would stop. Just one hour before our party the sun shined so brightly above our new home. We switched the party on the concrete as orginally planned! It was beautiful and perfect, just as we asked. It never rained all night! So many of our family and friends came out to celebrate my graduation and our new home. It was truly a blessed night together! (My parents gave me this ring--real? yes!) We are so thankful for each and every one of the guests that we had in our home. I wouldn't be where I am TODAY if it weren't for each of them and their prayers, love, and support. John and I are so BLESSED to be loved and encouraged by each of them. We are truly HONORED to be called your family, or friend.

It was the PERFECT day.
