Flying Through

These past couple of weeks have flown by for us. We have had lots to celebrate in our family and so much to share! I usually don't like splitting up events for each post, but we have a lot to share with you this week! So fasten up tight--here we go!
We celebrated our mother's with a Sunday lunch BBQ at our home for my mother.

We had the whole family over to enjoy some of mom's favorite BBQ, play some basketball, and enjoy everyone's company. I baked lemon cupcakes with fresh vanilla icing garnished with lemon zest and individual lemons for each cupcake. They were a hit with mom! Lemons are her very favorite! It was a beautiful day to celebrate! After lunch, I celebrated with my mother-in-law at their home. We had a relaxing time together with the whole family. It was a perfect day to celebrate mothers!
Also that weekend we celebrated HUGE with my Aunt Beth! Or, should I say, Dr. Beth. Words just can not explain how proud I am of her! She is so young and has accomplished so much in her lifetime. We enjoyed a gorgeous ceremony outside, brunch afterwards, and a night of dinner and fun to celebrate this incredible achievement! You go girl! Loves to you so much!

Amongst all the celebrating, and flying through we managed to build a raised bed and plant our first garden. We wanted to plant one last year but missed our chance! We had a blast building the bed and finding the perfect place for it in our yard!
We went to a local grower and specially picked out each fruit and veggie plant we wanted for our garden! This year we will host some fresh squash, okra, tomatoes, cucumber, tomatoes, and strawberries!
Here in our life we ask that you stay tuned for some good and juicy stuff this week! We have lots to praise God for and we can't wait to share it all with you!!

A Sweet Birthday Party

This year for our family has rung in some major important birthdays for all the little ones! We celebrated Isabella's first birthday yesterday. Although the weather was dark and dreary, we ventured down Candy Cane Ln. to Candyland for a bright and happy day!

We enjoyed watching the babies play games.
There were life size lollipops,
a castle,

an icecream castle,
personalized party hats, and

King Kandy and friends even showed up for her on her special day!
Isabella even decided to show us how well she can walk now!

Happy First Birthday Isabella! You are a precious and sweet little girl!

It's My Birthday

And it was a fabulous one! It was really more of a birthday two weeks, but that's what is so special about birthdays!!! I've been a very busy girl lately for various reasons so the birthday events were quite spread out this year! Which I totally loved! As you all remember, a few weeks ago my mom took my sister and I out for a day of shopping in Hendersonville for our birthdays. That was a blast! One night, we were invited to celebrate with the Maholland's at there home. We had an amazing dinner, and visit! It was very special!
On my actual birthday, John planned out an all day event which included breakfast, lunch, and dinner plans with lots of fun stuff planned in between. He reserved us our own cabana at Cabana in Nashville. We had an amazing dinner together and enjoyed The Gulch afterwards.
This past year has been a different one for me. Looking back on the year I've seen Gods work first hand in my life. He is my almighty God, and I love Him so much. This past year, I have been closer to God unlike any other. This past year has had encouragements, blessings, and trials. I know that all of those are a part of His plan for my life, and I know that all the blessings are His--not my own. And that excites me! This year, I am encouraged to give my life to Him to control--not for me to take hold of. It's so much easier that way. To know that I can trust in Him that His plan for my life is perfect! If I listen to Him, then I can make the most out of my life for Him alone. I love our God so much. This year is going to be lived to continually worship and serve Him. My life is in His hands. My blessings are not mine, but His. Thank you God for blessing me with another year of life to serve, and tell others about You! I'm living this life for You God, and nothing else.

Under the Sea

This past Sunday we celebrated the birthday of our nephew, Adam! He has truly blessed our lives these past two years. When my beautiful sister agreed to letting us take reigns on planning his party, we were thrilled to do this for them. It was the least that we could do for her and the family! I mean, who has time to plan a party when you have full time jobs and three children. Well, it's hard! And we wanted to help! So we did! We researched, and found what would be perfect for our sweet little Adam.

We decided on Under the Sea! So, on Sunday, we transformed our back yard to a playground of sea themed things! We had goldfish..everywhere, coloring, fishing, bubbles, bubble machines, balls, fish card games, the whole works! It was such a blast! We made sure that everything was set before the little guy arrived to his big party! I will never forget his face when he walked around back! He LOVED the little goldfish in their little bowls on each table. And he went crazy over the balls and bubbles!

I'll never forget the day that Adam was born. It was such a special day! It was so exciting! Having one nephew was incredible for 5 years, and then to find out that we would have another one was so thrilling! I'll never forget his little face when they brought him into the nursery. How he came out with perky lips, and long toes. How he felt all warm and cozy the first time I held him. He was adorable! He still is, and he continues to amaze me. I love him so much. I am SO blessed to be his Aunt Lindsey. Adam, my prayer for you is that you will go where God leads you. Listen and trust your parents, even when you "know" they are wrong. Love your brothers, and remember that THEY will always be there in your life. And when all else fails, run to your Aunt Lindsey and Uncle Johns house! We love you dearly Adam. You are such a light of our lives.
Love, Uncle John and Aunt Lindsey

Easter Weekend

We had one fun Easter weekend this year. On Friday, my amazing mother took me and my sister out for our birthdays. Our birthdays are in April exactly one week apart. Each year we always get to choose what special thing we want to do for our birthday. Birthdays are the best in our family! Very important days! So, this year we decided to spend the day shopping! We ate some delicious food and shopped the day away in Hendersonville! We had a whole day just us three with no distractions, no boys, and no babies! I can't remember the last time that's happened! It was a total blast!
Saturday our family had our first annual Easter egg hunt! With the sudden addition of 6 children in the past two years, we thought it would be necessary to hunt some eggs for some good traditional fun! It was a blast seeing these cuties walk around and "hunt" together! They are all so adorable in their own way! Their personalities are too fun! I took a ton of pictures of this event, so I'll try to shorten it to just a "few" I can't help myself!
We hunted eggs, they got all kinds of prizes, we colored eggs, ate ice cream, sandwiches, enjoyed snacks, and the company of the whole family being together again! It was so much fun that I can't wait until next year!
This Easter Sunday morning the Easter bunny showed up and brought us some yummy stuff! We had an amazing service at church! It was so nice to get to worship our Savior who paid it all for us! Afterwards, we celebrated as a family at my parents house! We enjoyed a huge, delicious lunch, hunted more eggs, and relaxed on the front porch. I just LOVE my parents home. It's where we were all raised. To come back there on such important days makes it so special. We made memories there, and we are blessed to continue to make even more as our family grows!

To Get Away From It All

We decided to up and leave for some "us time" We packed up the pups and headed to one of the places that we love the most! We reserved a cabin deep into the woods far away from it all. It was peaceful. Relaxing. Beautiful. Everything we needed. And I think the pups needed it too! It was a fabulous trip for us. We enjoyed big breakfasts with morning shows every morning, lunch dates, and dinner at Dixie Stampede, Apple Barn, the master griller--my husband. We walked to sites of downtown Gatlinburg, visited Wonder Works, shopped the outlets, and soaked in the nature of it all. Look familiar? It was the perfect trip together. We saw bears, mountain men, (yes mountain men..it was exciting, but not as exciting as the bears!) We are home now, and SO ready to watch as God takes hold of our family and it's future! We are His and we are greatly looking forward to see what He has in store for us!
