Home for the Holidays

This Christmas has been a long time planning. Last year, we purchased our first Christmas tree while keeping in mind that it would need to be big to fit in our living room this year in our new house. We couldn't wait to set it up for the first time in our new home this year! We set up all of our Christmas decor a couple of weeks back knowing that Thanksgiving week would be to hectic. We even decided to get a new tree for our bedroom! We decided to add a new tree each year! Enough talking! Now for the fun part! Crank up the music, sip on some eggnog, and Welcome! to the Maholland's Christmas!
Thanksgiving was very different this year for us. Everyone seemed to have to work, or decided to go else were, so my mother, brother, uncle, and I decided to eat lunch with my grandparents. It was really a treat to have such a small group! We all got to catch up, and everyone really enjoyed it! I made Paula Deen's Pumpkin squares with homemade cream cheese icing, Paula Deen's Thanksgiving Pumpkin Pie (which tastes like pumpkin and pecan pie!), and Original Pumpkin Pie.
It was my first Thanksgiving to actually get to make something, and they were all a success!!! I really enjoyed this Thanksgiving. It really allowed me to stop and see what all that I have to be thankful for! (Heidi and Harley celebrated their first Thanksgiving this year, and I thought it was appropriate to photograph this important event for them for the grand-dog-parents!)

I looooove your christmas tree!! I think Thanksgiving was slow for everyone this year.. We only had about 12 people at our house compared to our usual 70 to 80!

Love ya!
