Let Me Tell You Why

This is my most favorite part of the year. Birthdays are a very important thing in our home. Quite possibly, the most important thing to be exact. When you put my husband and birthday together it's really the best time of the year! Every year I try to make sure that John gets the best possible birthday ever. We have done lots of fun things in the past and I've surprised him several times before. This year was very different. I decided to completely plan ahead on Thursday with work and house work so by Friday everything was finished. It was a lot of work but it was so worth it! Friday night after John got off work we went to celebrate his birthday with our family.
We enjoyed his favorite meal and really good company. It's always really fun when both of our families get together. It makes us feel very thankful for what amazing families we really have.
Friday night he still wasn't sure what he wanted to do for the rest of his weekend. Little did he know...Saturday morning we enjoyed a quiet breakfast and spent the afternoon on the lake together. It was very relaxing and he had assumed that was really all we were doing. Little did he know, I had done a little more planning than that! Once we arrived home late afternoon, he decided to clean up the boat and get ready for "dinner". (Whatever I could do to get the boy in the shower!) Once 5 got here there was a ding-dong at the door! He answered the door to a quick surprise by our friends ready to take him away! We explained that his bags were packed, the pups were taken care of, and all he needed was to hook up the boat! We all piled up and ventured to a friends house, dropped of our boat, and spent the evening at his favorite Mexican restaurant and enjoyed our over night stay in Nashville with friends!
Saturday I surprised him with a day on the lake with all of our friends. That night we all enjoyed dinner and went to a movie.
It was a big time and a lot of fun to see his reaction when we told him Saturday afternoon all he was going to get to do for his birthday! He said it was the best ever, so I suppose I succeeded to top last year!
So, why is this so special...let me tell you why. This day was the day that God brought my husband into the world. It will never just be another day for me. I know that He was thinking about me on that day. I know that He created John for me and the idea that God would think that much of me blows my mind. I am honored to be called his wife.
John, I am forever grateful for your amazing love.
