October went and left us faster than I don't know what! I just changed my calender in my classroom to November last Friday and couldn't believe it! We have stayed entertained with lots of fun stuff that's for sure! Time really flies by when you're having fun! As you all know, birthdays are a very big deal to us. Last month our friend Lindsey and I met for a secret lunch to plan the birthday of all birthdays. Lindsey's husband is SO SO SO about his birthday. He really likes being surprised, and he REALLY liked reminding Lindsey of that the days leading up to his birthday. To say the least, it was extremely difficult for Lindsey to contain her composure up until the big surprise day! After an afternoon of scavenger hunts for Cody, he was led to our house to find John in his scrubs "ready for work" and me in sweat pants "ready for movies and popcorn" He was very upset we weren't a part of his little event Lindsey planned for him that evening. Little did he know! As soon as he left our house, he was blindfolded and we jetted out to check into our hotel room downtown Nashville.
We flew down there and decorated our room for the big surprise! I think this picture says it all!
He really was surprised! We were so excited to get to be a part of this fun day!
Lindsey did such an awesome job with everything! We made butterfinger cupcakes, a cake, we had party blowers, poppers, and she even got us all party favors.
Too fun! We relaxed at the hotel room for the afternoon, ate at Demos' and enjoyed some live music downtown. It was a fabulous way to celebrate a birthday for Cody!
For Halloween this year, we were quite busy with several things! We got to celebrate Andrews very last football game of his high school career. Andrew is such a hard player and really had grown into a fine young man. We are so very proud of him! He played an awesome season and we can't wait to go to all of his college football games!
Over the Spooky (sorry mom) Weekend, we invited Cody and Lindsey over for scary movies and spooky food!
We had Party Time chicken, Skeleton Eyes (Peas), Mushy Guts (Creamed Corn), Ghoulish Cheese Ball, Ghost Cupcakes, and of course candy!
It was a nice, relaxing night and we really enjoyed our time together.
We have really been soaking up time with our family these days. We love spending time with them. Last weekend we visited a very special place with all of my family. We went to the place where my father grew up.
It was a beautiful and very surreal day for us all! Today we enjoyed a big Sunday lunch with Johns family. It was delicious as always! They got a new pingpong table that we couldn't wait to try out! It was a blast! We also paused to take a few pictures. Being a little photographer on the side is fun, but sometimes, we need to be in front of the camera.
This is a really cool time in our lives, and we wanted to have it captured! Thanks to a fabulous FIL that took instruction really well and got to have fun with his own little creative eye himself!
