A Time for Learning and a Little Magic

The school where I work is a school of drastic turnaround. It is a school where all administration and teachers work very hard every moment to make the children's lives better. I entered the school in an amazing celebratory time. We have accomplished the award of National Point of Light Schools. There is an organization called Blue Ribbon Schools. Only certain schools can meet certain criteria to be claimed Blue Ribbon Schools out of the entire country. Our School has received National Point of Light by saying that we are just one step away from Blue Ribbon. This award is still very huge and highly honored. When the school was planning the trip to the conference the administrators selected 10 teachers from our school to journey to the most magical place on earth. I was so honored that a first year teacher got chosen to go learn even more about becoming Blue Ribbon. Last week we all ventured down to sunny Florida.

While there we learned beyond what I thought we would. We had conferences all day every day helping us become better at our job. It was a very uplifting experience.

While there, we got to venture to Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and spend a whopping 15 hours in Magic Kingdom. We got to experience the readying of the Christmas Story with Whoopi Goldberg accompanied by a 200+ Mass Choir and Orchestra.

We opened up and shut down every park. We screamed and yelled as we road every roller coaster possible about 3 times each.

Every day we were filled with energy and weren't ready to leave each experience! We experienced some emergency stops on our venture home due to the crazed amount of snow and got to experience a little Plane, Trains, and Automobiles, but once I had finally made it home it was wonderful! I am really thankful we have been out of school the past two days so I could reengergize. I slept all day on the couch yesterday and today I'm filling a little more energized. It was an absolutely amazing experience that was never taken for granted and that I will never forget!
