We got a call from our contractor today telling us that we need to pick out our
brick by this weekend because he is ready to begin. I ran by there today and got a chance to take pictures. They had layed the footers for the foundation. It was cool to see exactly how big our house will be on the lot as well as the size of our front and back yard. By next week they should have the walls up I'm sure! That's just me guessing because our neighbors were at this point last week and their walls are now UP! They sure go fast! OK, so million dollar question...Any suggestions for brick? We are interested to hear our blogger fan opinions, so please share with us!

We have light brick on our house. I like it okay. You need to get something that looks good. "Street appeal" so if you guys ever want to sell the house, people will drive by the house and think, Oh! it looks wonderful on the out side, I wonder what it looks like on the inside. Also look at your surroundings pick something that will fit in with the landscaping.
You guys should drive around a subdivision and look at what combinations you like (brick siding colors, shutters) to get ideas, if you haven't already. We didn't get to pick our brick. It is okay, but not what we would have chosen, given the choice.
